Philippians 4:8; Romans 12:2
A study reports we each have 50,000 to 70,000 thoughts a day! Wow! That’s a lot of thinking! What are we thinking about? With all the news, sports, and social happenings at our fingertips – no wonder we have so many thoughts. Have you ever been in a peaceful quiet mood and then watched a bit of news, your favorite team, or browsed through social media. Did you quickly become discouraged? Agitated? Or worse?
There’s nothing wrong with staying updated on current events, cheering your favorite team, or keeping up with one another via social media. However, as believers, let’s remember our hope is not in the economy, a political party, a sports team, or how many ‘likes’ we receive! Our hope is in Him! Maybe we should spend more time thinking about “whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable”. May we each daily renew our minds through His word and strengthen our relationship with Him. Be blessed!
