Colossians 2:2b-3: “to reach all the riches of full assurance of understanding and the knowledge of God’s mystery, which is in Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.”

In addition to encouraging and uplifting each other in the Lord Jesus, we must anchor them in God’s Word. We must stress the importance of God’s Word in the life of the believer.

Throughout the whole Bible we see the importance of the Word of God being stressed. An example of this is the commission of God to Joshua. In Joshua 1:8, we read the following, “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have great success.”  Christians today must have the same attitude toward God’s Word.

In this passage, Paul wanted the Colossian Christians to experience and enjoy all that God has for them. We must desire every blessing that God has for us and then act upon these blessings in a way that not only help us grow in the Lord, but help fellow-believers grow in the grace of God.

We must remember that God has promised those blessing to us, and not just a few, but as Ephesians 1:3 reads, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with EVERY spiritual blessing in the heavenly places.”

The following is from “Christ Centered Exposition, Exalting Jesus in Colossians and Phil

“As a result, only through a deeper, more intimate knowledge of Him can we experience the fullness of the ‘riches’ and ‘treasures’ of our faith. Therefore, as believers, our faith must be anchored in Him.”

Christians must know what they believe and why. We must read the Word of God so that we can learn more about the Godhead and how we can interact with them in our daily Christian life.
