So when we see Christ we will instantly be made totally, gloriously perfect because “we shall be like Him.” (I John 3:2) Heaven is a perfect place for people, in Christ, made perfect. God will make us perfect to dwell in His presence forever. In God’s presence demands our perfection!
In our current, imperfect, perishing bodies we groan due to our spiritual and physical weaknesses that can become relentless and frustrating at times. Paul again uses figurative language: as in “clothed.” We yearn to be clothed, that is “have on” our “heavenly dwelling” which refers to our promised perfect, eternal glorified bodies from God. Our “heavenly dwelling” provided by God here is therefore pictured as like a garment.
Believers’ death does not mean “soul sleep” or being released into a nebulous, spiritual infinity. Instead, all believers will be recreated by God to an immortal, imperishable, real, glorified resurrected body as Jesus, in His humanity, received. “We shall be like Him.” (I John 3:2)
Listen to the inspired words of the apostle Peter in (II Peter 1:10-11) “Therefore, my brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and election. For if you do these things you will never stumble, and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”
How is all of this as very very Good News!
