2024 KENTUCKIANA FELLOWSHIP WEEK is now in the past. Large crowd on Monday night due to Woodland Singers. They did a great job. Tuesday through Thursday attendance was somewhere in the 50s. Speakers approached their topics quite well and were interesting. Hearing messages from God’s Word is always uplifting and encouraging. Song leaders did a great job.
Woodland Bible Camp
Woodland Bible Camp had their 70th anniversary on July 27th . There were approximately 90 that came together to celebrate the 70th year of camp at Woodland. This included those that were attending Music Camp. The food was plentiful. The program was very enjoyable and included a group of singers that had previously attended Music Week events. There was an enjoyable slide presentation of past years.
Senior Citizens Week Sept. 9-13. If you are a Senior Citizen (or getting close) the fellowship, Bible lessons, singing, and activities are enjoyable for those of us that attend.
Fall Retreat Sept. 27-29 Grades 9 to age 20.
LADIES RETREAT DATE: AUGUST 16-17, 2024
As previously reported, the Retreat was held August 16-17, 2024 at Silver Heights. The chosen theme: ‘Into the Heart of Jesus’. It was the best attendance we have had in many years. 57 Ladies attended. The subject of each of the four verses of the hymn were addressed by one of the 4 Speakers: Melanie Mitchell, Phyllis Mullins, Anne Judd,, Jackie Gill. Song leader: Ramona Marsh. It was a blessed time in the Lord. We had some good special singing. Several ladies that had never attended before said they would definitely be back in 2025. We heard only positive comments. Silver Heights is a great place to gather and be blessed. The dates for 2025 are August 22nd – 23rd. Put these dates on our 2025 Calendar!!

Please continue to pray for the Christians in Ukraine. Those that we know have so far been safe, though many of them lost their homes and had to relocate. Those remaining continue to hold church services where possible and spread the Word of God and help others with food and supplies as they are able. Missile attacks continue to cause widespread damage to the electrical grid as well as damaging buildings and killing citizens. For many, no electricity means no heat. This is a very serious problem as the cold weather months have arrived. Please pray for an ending of this terrible war.
NOTE: Bro. Mike Abbott and Blaine Hebert recently made a mission trip to Ukraine. Working with Ukraine ministers it was decided the area where they would be was safe enough for this trip. They were holding a Minister Bible Retreat while there. The report for the trip is now on our website.
Keep in prayer the situation in Israel. This is God’s chosen land for his Chosen People.
Be in prayer for those in the USA that are making it dangerous for the Jews in this country. There were more than 220,000 pro-Israel Americans that gathered in Washington, DC, recently in support of Israel. Also be in prayer that the terrible upheavals of anti-Israel – pro Palestine, and even pro-Hamas students on college campuses in this country will soon be a thing of the past. Please pray for Dan and Meg Price as they labor in Israel.
SCEC Report from Terry Morrison.
Southeastern Christian Education Corporation has requests from 25 students this year who will be attending eight different Christian Colleges for total grants of $65,000. Each student will be receiving $2,600 per year. Over the years SCEC has given grants totaling over one millions dollars since the closing of Southeastern Christian College and the formation of SCEC as a non- profit private foundation. SCEC also supports the mission work in the Philippines through a $2,600 annual gift to Church of Christ Worldwide.
Pertinent Info: The annual corporation meeting was held at Cherry St. Church of Christ on the Saturday morning following Fellowship week. It is only $5.00 to become a corporation member and if you are an SCC grad or not, you may support SCEC financially. As you can see above 25 students generates $65,000 this year and if you attended SCC (or if a corporate member) and have a Christian College bound student, that child can fill out a form and be considered for a grant.
