Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners. I Corinthians 15:33.

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Romans 12:1,2

“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.” I John 2:15-17

These scriptures clearly show us that as followers of Christ, we cannot afford to be yoked with unbelieving, godless people. The apostle John, inspired of the Holy Spirit, makes this very plain in the scripture above.   “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.” II Corinthians 6:17

Again, if we are truly followers of Christ, we must stand alone. We must teach those around us that we must stand alone. We must show our friends, family, and above all, our children, that we are not willing to give in to the deception of the god of this world, Satan. This decision bears eternal consequences. The good consequences will be eternity with our Heavenly Father. The terrible consequence is to spend eternity in the fires of hell, because of a choice to love the world and the pleasures of sin that are temporary.

So we need to examine ourselves; we need to look inward and confirm our faith in God who loves us and gave His Son to die the death we deserved.

“Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?”  II Corinthians 13:5

So the choice is before us. We cannot run and hide from it.

In the book of Joshua, he put a critical choice before the people.

“choose you this day whom you shall serve………..but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15

Today is the day to make your choice; you may not have tomorrow.
