If God is unchangeable and immutable, and He is, that means that His promises will never vacillate, seesaw, or expire.  Scripture tells us, in the Old Testament, Numbers 23:19, “God is not a man, so he does not lie.  He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act?  Has he ever promised and not carried it through?”

Of the over 7,000 promises of God in the Bible, on the authority of the changeless nature of God, not a single one of those promises will be broken. God will keep every one of them!

Here is a small selection of His promises:

*  “Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.” – Psalm 50:15

* “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” – Isaiah 41:10

* “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.” – James 1:5

* “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you.” – Isaiah 43:2

* “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” – 1 John 1:9

* “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord you God is with you wherever you go.” – Joshua 1:9

* “In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” – Proverbs 3:6

These promises can never waver because the God who made them cannot change.  He doesn’t change His mind, and His grace doesn’t come and go.

Whenever you are troubled, distressed, under pressure, anxious, angry, or in need of guidance, the proper God-given strategy is to turn off all the noise, open your Bible, prayerfully read it and study it, and ask God to give you a promise upon which to stand…To grow stronger in our faith, we must focus our mental energy on the unfailing promises of God and on the unchangeable God of those promises.
