You ever hear a parent tell their kid, “Fix your attitude?”

Wayne Grudem in Christian Beliefs says, “Sin is any failure to conform to the moral law of God in any act, attitude, or nature.”*

It was hard for me to hear much more than that last Sunday during Bible study, because I stuck on that word ‘attitude.’

“For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander.” ([Mat 15:19 ESV)

But I’m pretty good, really. I don’t lie and steal and slander, etc.! Right?

BUT…Really, how am I right in Christ when my heart is not right in Him? I need to give Christ the hard heart, bad attitude, when I find myself there.

In other words, I need to fix my attitude!

Jesus, give me a soft heart to hear your voice! Show me when I have a hard heart. Forgive me…

“But thanks be to God, that you who were once slaves of sin have become obedient from the heart to the standard of teaching to which you were committed,” (Romans 6:17)
