     Brawling branches of government; pervasive health problems; civic chaos, social dissent and disunity … could be today … but it also references the world about mid-way into Nero’s reign. 

     Many believe the second letter to Timothy was written during these troubling times.  Could it contain counsel for our current climate? An appeal is made for Timothy to firmly focus on the truth of the Gospel, don’t be ashamed, be faithful, and don’t be afraid – regardless of what happens politically, socially, or otherwise! 

     Don’t get caught up in raucous rhetoric, stupid squabbles, or foolish fights, but gently guide opponents in the hope HE will lead them to truth!

     Regardless of what the next couple of weeks bring, as believers, may we each be grounded in the Gospel, guide gently, teach tenderly, and correct considerately!  Be blessed!
