As Jesus was asleep in the boat, a storm came. The winds were strong and the waves were crashing, even coming into the boat. The disciples panicked and woke Jesus saying, “Don’t you care what is happening? Don’t you care that we are about to die?” He stood and said to the winds and waves “Peace. Be still.” And he said to the disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Have you no faith?”

This boat of life in which we live faces many storms. If you don’t believe that, just scan through your facebook newsfeed. At times, it seems that the cares, fears, and hurt of this world are not only beating on us but beginning to affect us deeply inside.

We turn to Jesus and say, “Don’t you care? Don’t you see what’s happening? Where are you? Why aren’t you stopping this?” And he will say to us, “Why are you so afraid? Where is your faith?”

Today, consider this:
   1. Have Jesus in your boat.
   2. Storms are inevitable.
   3. He knows and cares about the hurt in your life.
   4. He is the only one who can calm the storms in your life.
   5. Don’t be afraid. Have faith. Jesus is in the boat.
