If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.
Romans 12:18 (NIV)
14 For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. Matthew 6:14-15 (NIV)
As we’re hurrying and scurrying about these next few weeks looking for those perfect gifts, maybe there is a very special gift we should consider giving – forgiveness.
In this society which seems to have an abundance of anger, even rage, might we consider imparting grace and forgiveness? Perhaps there is a relationship with a parent, child, sibling, spouse, other family, or friend in need of restoration. Maybe all it needs is our first step of putting away pride and extending grace and forgiveness. Of course, we may extend those gifts and they may not be accepted. As believers, that’s ok.
We need to take care of our relationships as far as it depends on us. So as we’re picking out those perfect gifts this Christmas season, if needed, let’s give forgiveness – and be reminded of the forgiveness given to us the first Christmas! Be blessed!
