Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Ephesians 2:8-9 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Do you ever feel like you don’t measure up? Do you think your shortcomings are worse than others – especially, your colossal collapses in conduct? Or maybe the opposite – you’re thankful your modest mistakes are meager when compared to others?
We’ve all probably felt both of these scenarios at one time or another. We’ll leave it to the theologians to determine the rankings of our wrongdoings. However, one thing is certain – sin separates us from Him!
Often, we put the cart before the horse by placing obedience and control ahead of worship and love. No amount of our ‘trying harder’ or ‘doing better’ will tip the scale of good and bad in our favor. We each need His grace!
There is nothing we’ve done to make Him love us less! There is nothing we can do to make Him love us more! He loves us! May we each accept His free gift of grace and live with a sincere heart to please Him in all we do.
Remember, His grace is bigger than any and all of our blunders, failings, indiscretions, miscues, offenses, transgressions, weaknesses – sin.
Be blessed!
