Reflections from the Rough

by Robin Embry

With an ever-changing world, seemingly from bad to worse, do we find ourselves living with unfulfilled expectations, confusion, disappointment, and anxiety for the future? Have yesterday’s happy hopeful dreams transformed to today’s daunting discouraging fears?

Maybe we need an encouraging encounter (or a re-encounter) with the risen Savior! Maybe He’s asking us to lay aside our troubled doubts and spiritually touch His nail scars and pierced side!

Maybe we simply need a stronger faith – like those early followers who were physically with him after His resurrection! I am persuaded, their time with Him, especially after His resurrection changed everything about them!

We, as believers, should be encouraged, be changed by what He said to Thomas – “You believe because you have seen me. Blessed are those who believe without seeing me”!

I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.
