HARRY & KATE COULTAS reside at Heartland Villa in Lewisport, KY, where they both are given very good care. Over a 12 month period, Medicaid erroneously made much lower payments to Kate’s account with the Nursing Home than had been normal. The normal Medicaid monthly payments were resumed after the 12 months due to their son, Keith’s intervention with Medicaid over several months of many phone calls and face to face meetings. Though Medicaid acknowledges that this 12 months was in error, since they corrected it after the 12 month period, they have refused to rectify the situation. The amount owed to Kate’s account is over $7,000 and Heartland has been very patient to wait for this large amount due them. Keith contacted Sandra & Ray Naugle, wondering if those who know Harry & Kate would consider giving to this need. Sandra agreed to get the word out about the need.
“What a Mighty God We Serve!” Friends, church members, and churches have responded to this need. Sandra Naugle reports: “I am so thankful to report that we have raised the funds for the amount owed to Heartland Villa. We actually collected more than the original need and as previously decided, the overage amount ($750) will be given to Portland Christian School. A special thanks to each of you who responded in such a worthy fashion in a two week period. Harry & Kate are surely loved by many, many Christian friends.”
CHURCH OF CHRIST WORLDWIDE (Lexington, Ky) wishes to thank each of you who have remained faithful in giving to missions around the world. The office is overseen by David & Betsy Harding and Stanna Page. This is a “work of faith” and “labor of love” on their part to receive and forward designated funds from churches and various individuals. Even though the economy has caused a decline in giving, the Lord continues to raise up faithful stewards who not only support various works with their prayers, but continue to support these works financially. As the minister of the Cramer & Hanover Church of Christ, I am very thankful for the work of the three mentioned above. They carry on an invaluable work. Gifts are received, deposits made, checks written, and acknowledgement letters sent out. Since the annual Prayer/Praise Booklet was NOT printed this past November, we have tried to post updates on the wordandwork.org in the News & Notes column. Please go there each month and see the latest post. For any information or questions contact me at benhill2468@gmail.com
AN APPEAL IS MADE to Churches each January for information that can be shared with others. This might include Revival meetings, Mission works, Vacation Bible School, Special meetings for Outreach, Woodland Bible Camp, Words of Life Radio Ministry, 5th Sunday Singspiration, KY-IND Christian Fellowship, Short Term Mission Trips, etc. Our prayer is that the Lord’s Church will continue to experience His presence and power as we face another year.
