Again, I want to thank the congregations and individuals who contributed to help me make the mission trip to Mindanao.  It was a great experience for me, and it let me know first-hand what was happening in the Lord’s work there. It is one thing to know about what is happening, but when you are there in person, you see the fruit of the work.

Since I have returned on April 17th I have tried to report to the churches about our trip.

On July 9, 2017 I was invited to visit two congregations in the Linton-Dugger area in Indiana. I visited Churches of Christ in Pleasant Grove, where Bro. Buford Smith preaches, and Dugger, where Bro. Nick Moore preaches.

The PowerPoint presentation and the video of our Filipino brothers and sisters singing hymns of faith and songs of praise, in both English and their own dialect, were well received.  Both congregations asked questions about the work and are praying for us.

On Monday night, July 24, 2017, Bro. Steve Clark and I hosted the Philippine Mission Appreciation Dinner at the Christian Center of the Sellersburg Church of Christ. This was the first event of the 70th Kentuckiana Christian Fellowship Week.

We had a good turnout at the BBQ dinner and many were able to hear about the work. I showed the PowerPoint presentation and video, and Bro. Steve also gave a presentation. We both were glad to tell about the mission work in the Philippines.

On July 23, 2017 I visited the Bohon Church of Christ near Harrodsburg, KY to report on the work and received a warm welcome. On July 30, 2017 I gave a presentation to the Sellersburg Church of Christ. On August 6, 2017 I have been invited to visit the Salem congregation near Cynthiana, KY in the morning and the Belmont congregation in Winchester that afternoon. When Cyrus and Lyrna were here last year we visited these congregations. I was blessed to be with the folks at the Hamburg Church of Christ on Sunday morning, August 20, 2017.

I was with the folks at Waterford Church of Christ on September 10, 2017 and at Cherry Street Church of Christ on September 24,2017

Bro. Don Carlos Janes (1877-1944) said the “the brethren will give more when they know more,” so I am glad that I am able to go visit our congregations and tell them what is happening on the other side of the world.

If you would like me to come to your congregation, contact me by phone at 502-235-4482 or email me at larrymiles1952@gmail.com
