A B C Gospel

by O. N. "Nick" Marsh

When I was a boy and went to school the teacher had a large chart with large letters:

A is for Apple;

B is for Ball;

C for Cat.

By this simple method we learned to read.

I think of an A B C Gospel Message that will help us to learn the Christian way of life.

A is for All;

B is for Behold;

C is for Come.

In Romans 3:23 we read, “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” We see here our state without God and hope in the world. There is something we can do about it.

In John 1:29 John sees Jesus coming and said, Behold the Lamb of God which taketh away the sins of the world.” Yes, all have sinned, but there is a way of redemption through Christ.

In John 14:6 Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” With this in mind, let us turn to Matthew 11:28: “Come unto Me all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest.”

We read in Hebrews 1:1-2, “let us lay aside every weight and the sin that doth so easily beset us and let us run with patience that race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.”

All means the whole world. Behold means look unto Jesus. Come means to accept Him. We read in the Hebrew letter that “He endured the cross and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

Let us look at the cross. There we see the suffering, death burial and resurrection. This is for the sins of the world.

Let us look at ourselves. If we are in sin and without hope, then my message is to look unto Jesus. Come to Him for salvation.
