Another of God’s ministers has been called home and joined the great cloud of witnesses that are encouraging each of us to “look to Jesus” as we run our race.  Our beloved Dale Offutt was taken home on May 6th at Maple Manor Christian Home where he spent the last few weeks of his life.  He was born October 14, 1938.  He began his preaching career in his hometown church of Sellersburg Church of Christ at the age of 26.  He also was a speaker of Words of Life Radio for 10 years and served on several boards of Christian ministries.  He is survived by his wife Wanda, two sons and their wives, Kurt and Linda and Kent and Audra and three grandchildren – Tyler, Haley, and Tessa.  He is also survived by four sisters – Joyce Love, Wanda Hutchinson, Linda Rake, and Pauletta Kutter.
Bro. David Johnson, the current minister at Sellersburg Church of Christ officiated at the service – held at the church.  The number of people was a testimony to Bro. Dale’s influence on so many.  Bro. David read three testimonies from the three grandchildren of the impact Graddad (Dado) had on them.  They spoke of all the time devoted to them, of the fun and games they shared together and of his baptizing them.  The congregation joined together in singing hymns and praises to God.  Bro. David’s words gave honor not just to Dale but to the Lord he served so faithfully all his life.   After the service was  held at the cemetery across from the church and all were invited back to the Church’s fellowship room for a noon meal.  As the Lord calls home another one of His ministers, may it behoove each of us to be ready and watching – knowing that our “redemption is drawing near.”  (Luke 21:28)
