“For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword.” (Hebrews 4:12)

Consider the efficacy of Scripture. We affirm that the Bible is effective and well able to accomplish what it was designed to do. When we authentically engage with the Word of God we can’t help but be changed and molded. The Bible is powerful and it changes lives for the better. Hebrews 4:12 pictures Scripture as a living instrument capable of piercing into our inner-most being. Let me put it this way; reading the Word of God is not the safest activity in which we can engage. This word jabs at us and cuts us, forcing a reaction. You see, we don’t just read the Bible for information. Rather, we engage with it for transformation. This is a book that will change our lives if we allow it to. The Bible is effective in accomplishing its divine function of changing lives.

Believers are challenged to adopt a healthy attitude toward the Word of God. The Bible is inspired, inerrant, sufficient, authoritative, and effective. It is the life changing, truth revealing, inspired Word of God. Let us cherish and love God’s revealed message to the world. Let us diligently seek to live a life that honors God’s Word as the true guide that it is.
