July 25-28, 2011 64th Annual   KY/IN Christian Fellowship Week  Theme: “Walk the Walk – Talk the Talk”

REUNION AT WOODLAND coming this fall, October 7, 8, and 9th. We literally have hundreds of people we need to get the word out to. We are praying that it will be one of the most life changing weekends ever spent at Woodland Bible Camp. We hope to have a little something for everyone, but the focus will be about strengthening our relationship with God and strengthening relationships within our own families. Come one, come all!  In one sense, our “target” group is anyone who will not be attending Senior Citizens Week the week before and those who will not be attending the JR/SR High Retreat the last weekend of September…….BUT OF COURSE EVERYONE IS INVITED AND ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND.  Let us know if you will help spread the word and pray.  Please pray that God would touch people and draw their hearts back to Woodland, to their families, and most importantly……..HIMSELF.  More details coming in the next few days! SPECIAL REPORT FROM MISSIONARIES (excerpt from Prayer/Praise Booklet – 2010)

JAPAN —  Michiya & Tomoko Nakahara  9-25 Toyohara-Cho Suruga-Ku  Shizuoka City, Japan 422-8071

Greetings from Shizuoka , Japan to our brothers and sisters in Christ!

Items for Praise

  1. June (2011) will mark the 50th anniversary of Chuo Church of Christ. We are so thankful for all of your financial and prayer support beginning with Shichiro & Teruko and today, continuing with myself and Tomoko. Thank you to all of you, God’s faithful servants!
  2. We are planning a special 50th celebration for next June. Our leaders have begun to meet in special prayer time to prepare our hearts and ask for wisdom to honor God. As Paul mentions in Phil.3:13, “One thing I do………straining toward what is ahead”. This is our prayer that we will always strive toward the goal that God has set before us.
  3. Regarding our property issue, God has opened up many doors thus far, and we feel blessed to be at a place where we are. We feel this is directly linking to the future of our church and we praise God for this opportunity.
  4. We are so thankful that God has given us gift of health and we as a Christian family sense His protection and guidance each and every day.

Items for Prayer

  1. For the spiritual growth of our young believers, and that we can provide adequate discipleship within our body
  2. Pray for more seekers to come even with the New Age Buddhist temple directly behind us.
  3. Wisdom to know where to go from “Reading Club Ministry” coming to an end due to changes in school demands and other school related commitments. Pray that God will show us specifically where to go from here-new ministry or changing the content of our current ministry, etc.
  4. Pray for the property issues. Many details and obstacles are ahead of us, and we need God’s wisdom in each of the steps.
  5. Pray for our sons, Kazuma and Lyn as they express their desires to be in some type of full-time ministries.

Nakahara News Update: (June 2011)

We last reported that the property adjacent the present church building had been purchased and that funds were being raised toward the overall building fund. We are very pleased to report that to date (June 1) a total of $18,750 has been raised (stateside) to add toward this project. Praise the Lord! This amount has been wired to Michiya Nakahara to use in the project.

Michiya has sent me a picture of the old house being demolished in preparation for the parking lot. It gives the present church building immediate access to the public street (the goal of the overall project). I remember the former look when I visited Michiya in the 1990’s, so it does look different to see the potential open space. Progress is being made.

Please be advised that the building fund account is still open and is in need of our continued support. We have already reported that the need is great. We will forward a second amount as it accumulates. If you are so led by to Lord to contribute toward this project, remember to mark your gift “Building Fund.” Send it to the address above. Also, keep in mind that it does little good to “rob Peter to pay Paul.” The Nakahara Mission’s regular support needs to continue without interruption.

Thank you so much for all of your prayers and gifts to the Nakahara mission. May the Lord Jesus Christ honor your dedication to Him.

In anticipation of the return of Christ (Titus 2:13)

Bob Yarbrough  for the Nakahara Mission
