We Need Information from ministers or other church leaders regarding revivals, special events that are planned for 2010 at your church. Others enjoy reading News & Notes of the work that goes on in different places. I hope to encourage you to take advantage of the internet capability of sharing with others. It only takes a few minutes out of your busy schedule and it sure beats finding pen, paper, and addressing an envelope. For those who have been faithful and regular during the past year, I say thank-you. (bhill40482@aol.com.)

Locust St. Church of Christ ( Johnson City, TN) is blessed to have Bros. Hall Crowder and Billy Jack Smith as preacher & teacher. Bro. Crowder recently celebrated his 90th birthday on November 23, 2009. The Lord continues use both men in pulpit work and in the classroom expounding the Word of God. I was greatly blessed and encouraged in a recent meeting with them and the hospitality shown to me through Dick & Janell Lewis was such a blessing. The church is very active in promoting missions especially with their display board for all to see and keep updated from regular reports sent to them.

Located in Johnson City is Biblica. This is the new name for IBS-STL Global. IBS stands for International Bible Society, which has been translating and distributing the Bible for 200 years. STL stands for Send the Light, (former Operation Mobilization) which in 50 years has grown to be the world’s largest Christian distributor of Christian products. The two ministries merged in 2007 and were renamed Biblica in 2009 to better reflect the ministry and vision. Biblica is one of the largest Bible and Christian literature ministries in the world. They are the translator sponsor of the English-language New International Version (NIV) of the Bible, the most widely ready contemporary English translation. While in Johnson City, I (Bennie Hill) was privileged to visit the 4 1⁄2 acres under one roof facility guided by Ken Brady (married to Cindy Crowder). I learned there are about 6,500 languages in the world. More than 4,000 languages don’t have any of the Bible translated – representing about 350 million people. Biblica specializes in translating the Bible into the vast number of lanuages. It takes about eight years to translate a New Testament; about 12 years to translate the full Bible. At present, Biblica has 300 full-and part-time Bible translation staff working in 29 languages.

A Probing Thought by a Missionary Friend — Pray for a Joshua for Bethany Fellowship in Davao City [Philippines]. Moses was having the time of his life talking directly to God. But what did Joshua do for those 40 days while waiting alone on the side of the mountain? He didn’t see God, and had no computer games to play to pass the time – yet he was there to greet Moses, without any complaint against God or Moses for taking so long! Wow!! May your Christmas be memorable–whether it is a Moses or a Joshua day, Love, Dottie St. Clair
