Daughter of Chinese Pastor Calls for Prayer – Faith Freedom Report
- Grace Jin Drexel urged believers in the West to pray for China’s persecuted Christians during an interview on “Fox News Sunday.”
- Her father, Pastor Ezra Jin Mingri, founder of the Zion Church, is detained on charges widely seen as politically motivated.
- Zion Church, despite government shutdowns and pressure, serves thousands and continues to spread the Gospel across China.
Grace Jin Drexel, daughter of Pastor Ezra Jin Mingri, called on Christians worldwide to remember and uplift those facing suffering for their faith in China. She spoke from a place of hope, seeking miraculous deliverance and courage for her father and other imprisoned believers. Jin’s detainment followed a large-scale CCP crackdown, with around 30 Zion Church leaders and members recently detained or reported missing.
The assaults come as authorities strengthen control over unregistered house churches and repress Christian worship outside state-sanctioned groups. “We know that we are part of a global Christian community, and so we just call out for prayer and call out not to forget us and not to forget the Christians in China.”
Drexel said. The church began in 2007, blossoming into one of China’s largest house churches despite official closure attempts in 2018. Worship persists online, drawing communities across cities and offering a beacon of hope under oppression.
Bill Drexel, Grace’s husband, described the crackdown as the broadest assault on a single church in four decades, spanning several major Chinese cities. He believes authorities aim to tighten control during challenging times.
Despite daunting legal battles, Grace holds firm in faith, believing that God can deliver her father and all who suffer unjustly for Christ.
“I definitely, as a Christian, I also believe in miracles, and we are calling for a full, unconditional and immediate release of my family, as well as those 21 others who are detained.”
Grace boldly declared.
Senator Marco Rubio has condemned these actions and demanded freedom for the detained believers, urging China to respect religious liberty and allow all believers to worship without fear.
Let us unite in faithful prayer for our Chinese brothers and sisters, asking God’s protective hand over them and courage in the face of oppression.
May their witness strengthen our own resolve to stand for Christ wherever we are.
