I am not particularly adept with technology. In fact, there’s no “adept’ at all when it comes to the subject of technology! I’m just not good with it. But, I like it because of the things that can be done with it! Phone calls, text messages, internet searches, GPS…….in short, anything for everything you need.

But, I think I may need a new phone. Some of the things I have used are not working properly and it’s a guess, from one moment to the next, whether or not it will work properly. It isn’t very reliable, right now. So……it looks like I’m going to get a new phone.

I’m glad I don’t have to worry about getting new spiritual things! Everything we have from God is spiritual and eternal. In other words, the spiritual things never wear out, need replacement, or have to be thrown away!

God“For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.” (Mal. 3:6) “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” (Jas. 1:17) God never changes nor does He need replacing. “Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.” (Isa. 44:6)

Jesus— “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.” (Heb. 13:8) Jesus’ work of salvation is perfect and needs no amendment of any kind. We do not need a shortcut nor is God willing to accept anything beyond the blood of Jesus. (1 Pet. 1:18,19)

God’s Word“For ever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven.” (Ps. 119:89) If God’s word was subject to change, it could not be the reliable lamp/light that David said it is. In which case, how could we know the way to life eternal?

Salvation— “Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.” (Heb. 7:25) Jesus “ever lives” to make intercession. A pure heart with sincere motives can/will be forgiven a trespass because of the intercession of Jesus. I need not worry that salvation will change with the stock market, political leaders or the fortunes of men.
