Please continue to pray for the Christians in Ukraine.  Those that we know have so far been safe, though many of them lost their homes and had to relocate. Those remaining continue to hold church services where possible and spread the Word of God and help others with food and supplies as they are able.  Missile attacks continue to cause widespread damage to the electrical grid as well as damaging buildings and killing citizens.  For many, no electricity means no heat.  This is a very serious problem as the cold weather months have arrived.      Please pray for an ending of this terrible war.

Senior Citizens Week at Woodland September 11 through 15, 2023.  Theme: Peter Admonishes.

Lessons from the 8 Chapters of 1 and 2nd Peter.  An enjoyable time was had by all.  The eight speakers brought their 1st and 2nd Peter messages well and were appreciated by all in attendance. It seemed to be a smaller crowd than usual, but that did not keep us from having a good time.  The extra ‘Game night’ on Wednesday after church, hosted by Kayla Hale, produced a lot of laughter and a lot of ‘hey, we had that answer, too’. Thank you to The Kitchen Ladies, who produced really good food and their efforts were appreciated.   The Men’s and the Lady’s Prayer and Share times were appreciated and enjoyed by all.  If you didn’t attend you missed a really uplifting and enjoyable week with old friends.  Keep it in mind for 2024.if the Lord Tarries.

The FALL LADIES RETREAT held  Sept. 29-30, 2023 was well attended.  Without a final count, I believe we had at least 46 ladies in all.  Some came only Friday night, Some only Saturday, and some both. This was the first year at the beautiful Silver Heights Camp in New Albany. Friday night was a time of Reflecting, Remembering, and Rejoicing. We had a time of remembering those that are now ‘Retreating in Heaven’ and those that had been regular attendees but no longer able to attend.  On Saturday, the theme was: Forgiveness, and the three ladies that addressed the subjects of God’s Forgiveness (Laura Means), Seeking Forgiveness (Gloria Olberding), and Giving Forgiveness (Dorothy Stiltner) were well prepared and appreciated by all that attended. It seemed to the committee that God had put the words into their minds before they were even asked to speak. This was a first year for Brenda Heid to be our song leader and she carried out her duties quite well.  There was special singing by several. The times of fellowship and good eating were so enjoyable. All agreed that Silver Heights is a great place to host this annual event.  Those in charge of the camp went out of their way to accommodate our wishes and it was so pleasant to walk in the door and see everything set up and ready to go as we had requested.  Keep it in mind in 2024 for Sept. 27th / 28th.   You will be glad you came.
