We Must Be Wise In The Use OF Our Minds! As we said in our previous article, we must practice mind renewal in a mindless society (Rom. 12:1-2), We must seek to understand what God’s will for us is. We must look to the Word of God, not earthly wisdom. The only valid source for that wisdom is the Spirit breathed Bible (II Tim. 3:16-18).
Verse 17 tells us that we have two choices on how we use our minds. We can us the mind either foolishly or wisely. We must seek to understand God’s Word and use what we have learned in our pilgrimage of faith. In the Parable of the Sower in Matthew 13:11-23, the wise person is the one “hears the word and understands it.”
Paul contrasts getting drunk with wine to being filled with the Spirit. Jack Cottrell writes the. following, “Why should this (drunkenness)? For one thing, because once we voluntarily give you control of our. minds, demonic spirits who are constantly monitoring our activities can use this as an opportunity to enter our bodies and take control of our minds, thoughts and activities.” We will write more on what it means to be filled with the Spirit in our next article.
