Taking a Fresh Look at God’s Living Universe

Secular humanism theorizes that our universe is a lifeless anomaly. The worldview taught by people in authority today essentially denies that mankind has any spiritual value. It presupposes our existence is by pure chance, having no eternal significance whatsoever.

We are the product of material happenstance and cosmic coincidence, according to modern “scientists”. We are each just a tiny speck on a big planet, in an even bigger solar system. Our solar system exists within an enormous galaxy which is soaring through space among many other incomprehensibly massive galaxies in space.

Long ago, the vast universe randomly produced, “the Big Bang”, which caused a chain of perfect events that led to the beginning of life here on earth. Somehow, living cells spontaneously formed from inanimate matter. These gradually developed into human beings over untold eons. Bottom line: We are an accident, aimlessly spiraling into infinite space with no meaning or purpose in life!

What if this theory was predicated on nothing more than lies invented by godless men who seek to deny God? I do not mean the interpretations of these facts are lies, but that the information itself is completely unprovable hogwash!

Upon researching cosmology for myself, I found that the details alleged by our “scientists” in academia, media and government cannot be proven. They create arguments based on data that is faulty or lacking, at best. What’s more, they directly contradict God’s word!

They use exactly the same strategy they have used to indoctrinate the masses with Darwinian Evolution. They promote unsubstantiated lies in an effort to convince us there is no meaning to life.

They speak of theories as if they were facts. Without proof, they say we evolved from apes, essentially creating ourselves (comp. Psa. 100:3). Likewise, they have no evidence to prove anything they assert about God’s creation. Why should any of us believe what they have to say about the world we live in?

By deception, they seek to create doubt that God exists, denying man has any real purpose. They push their errors unrelentingly. They are so successful and convincing that even the most devout Christians will defend the lies they are taught about the universe, even denying plain statements of Scripture which contradict. Of course, these Christians do not realize they are doing Satan’s bidding, as they protect his lies from being unraveled by believers.

It is easy for most of us to discern the clash between evolution and the Bible, but the cosmological lies we have been taught are a subtle beast to slay. We do not question them because we do not realize how wrong they are. It is important to first cleanse our minds from what we have been taught in order to better understand the “divine power” (Rom. 1:20). God has “made plain” what we need to know about his creation (Rom. 1:19). We should not trust the deceivers who deny his word.

Every high school lecture, every TV show, every science fiction movie must be expunged from our thinking in order to take a fresh, unbiased look at the Bible and understand what it says about the world we live in. Scripture is our only purely reliable source of information about anything in life. Everything else is susceptible to man’s venal theories. Scripture alone is God-breathed (2 Tim. 3:16). Let us study it with a clean slate.

The Bible does not teach that we live in a random, lifeless universe. There is no evidence that we are spiraling into oblivion at neck breaking speed. There is no evidence that we are small and irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. To the contrary, mankind has a valuable role in God’s plan to subdue and reign upon his living creation (Gen. 1:26; Psa. 115:16).

There is sentient life everywhere – divine, angelic, demonic, human, and animal. The creation itself lives to declare the glory of God (Psa. 19:1; 89:5; 97:6; 145:10). Obviously, the degree of man’s consciousness is not the same as the animals. Their minds do not function at a human level. The same principle applies to stars (angels). Their consciousness of the universe exceeds man’s consciousness (e.g. Num. 22:31; 2 Kings 6:17). Man was created below angelic glory and is only capable of understanding the universe to a certain extent, in his present condition (cf. Psa. 8:4 – 6; Heb. 2:6 – 8).

This is evidenced by the angels’ superior ministry to mankind (Psa. 104:4; Heb. 1:7). The stars are alive, their glory varying from the glory of the sun and moon, but also imbued with power from on high (1 Cor. 15:41). For a deeper examination on the nature of stars, see our September issue (When God Sends His Angels, Where Do They Come From?).

The prominent theme in atheistic/secular thought is the downgrading of life. Atheists assert that life is accidental, temporary, and insignificant. Thus, it isn’t really “life”, as the Bible defines it. Consciousness is a byproduct of a natural, chemical phenomenon in the brain, destined to fail and decay at death, but Scripture teaches we are alive even before birth (Jer. 1:5).

In the resurrection, we will be reanimated and live forevermore (Job 14:14; 19:25 – 27).  Therefore, every decision we make carries an eternal purpose into “the new heavens and new earth in which righteousness dwells” (2 Pet. 3:13). We will not terminate at death, and neither will the cosmos.

All that God has made is eternal (cf. Psa. 72:5; 148:3 – 6; Jer. 31:35; 33:20, 21). Not just our spirits but the physical universe itself bears the marks of immortality because God created it all “very good” (Gen. 1:31; Psa. 119:68; 1 Tim. 4:4). It will be renewed at the “regeneration” of all things (Matt. 19:28). Atheistic cosmology denies all of this emphatically!

The perfect antidote to the poisonous teachings we were taught in school and media is the Bible. We have all been indoctrinated to believe the universe is comprised solely of inanimate matter that will one day decay and dissolve into nothingness. We were taught bogus, godless theories that have no evidence to support them. We may defeat these theories with the evidence found in the living word of God (Heb. 4:12).

We learn that the earth is not what they say it is. It is alive, albeit groaning and suffering from the curse of man’s sin (Rom. 8:22). Again, the degree of conscious suffering is not identical to that of man’s pain, but neither is this merely anthropomorphic language.

The earth is a sentient organism which hosts living creatures both above and below its surface. Indeed, it languishes and fades, mourning the destructiveness of sin (Isa. 24:4 – 6; 33:9; Jer. 4:28; 9:10; Joel 1:10; Hos. 4:2, 3). It writhes in sickness and decay until it will be restored to perfection at the coming of Christ. It is, nevertheless, fully alive today.

Death abides in the belly of the earth. This place is known in Scripture as Sheol/Hades (1 Sam. 2:6; Isa. 14:9; Matt. 11:23; Lk. 16:23; Rev. 20:23). The realm of the dead is “deep” below the surface (Job 11:8; Isa. 7:11; Amos. 9:2). Lost souls and fallen angels alike reside in that place, imprisoned to this very day. They are awaiting the punishment of eternal destruction in hell (1 Pet. 3:19, 20; 2 Pet. 2:5; Jude 6). Nevertheless, everyone “under the earth” will one day confess that Jesus Christ is the risen Lord (Phil. 2:9 – 11).

The sun and moon are alive, ruling the day and the night respectively (Gen. 1:16; Psa. 136:7 – 9). They instinctively “know” their seasons and settings (Psa. 104:19). The sun provides healing rays of light (Mal. 4:2). The moon glows in the darkness of the night.

Even when they are no longer needed to provide illumination and healing to the earth, they will still live eternally in a “confounded” and “ashamed” condition (Isa. 24:23; Rev. 22:5). God will preserve them as a testament to his glory and faithfulness throughout all generations, while he brilliantly shines (Psa. 89:37).

The brainwashing makes these Biblical facts difficult for many to accept, but if we simply allow the Bible to speak, rather than accepting “science falsely so called”, we may be released from the bondage of Satan’s lies and find freedom in the truth (John 8:32; 1 Tim. 6:20).

We need to stop viewing creation through secular humanist goggles, though we were trained this way from our youth. There is no natural explanation for the origin and existence of life. There is also no natural explanation for the essence of the universe. It was supernaturally created to live for God’s pleasure and praise!

The ground we walk upon is alive and awaiting dramatic change to God’s glory. The sun, moon and stars rejoice and sing exuberantly (Psa. 19:1 – 6; 148:1 – 8). These acts must be understood literally

Genuine scientists have detected these living entities sounding audible music with powerful recording instrumentation. I have listened to them myself. They “sing” melodious hymns to God in unison! These luminaries were “allotted” to all the people under heaven to declare the Father’s praise by their sights and sounds (Deut. 4:19).

This world is not what we are being told it is. It is a very easy thing to manipulate data and create computerized images of what our universe is supposed to look like. Many of these photos and videos are fashioned to deceive, create a science fantasy, and deny God the glory he is due.

Before widespread indoctrination by NASA and Hollywood, many Christians knew and believed this world to be alive, fixed, and upheld by pillar foundations (1 Sam. 2:8; Job 9:6; Psa. 75:3; 82:5; 93:1; 96:10; 104:5). They knew the earth was set by God within “four corners” (Job 37:3; Dan. 4:11; Isa. 11:12; Matt. 24:31; Rev. 7:1; 20:8). They knew the sun and moon travel above the earth, in their own divinely prescribed circuits (Josh. 10:13; Job 9:7; 26:10; Isa. 38:8). They did not seek to explain these things away.

They accepted the Bible at face value, believing these were all living entities, operating within the solid “firmament” of heaven (Gen. 1:6, 7, 14; Amos 9:6), created to tell the story of God’s magnificent power and love for creation. That was before Satan’s deception became so increasingly manifest in our world.

Today, the same people telling us we evolved from apes are telling us we reside on a lifeless, spinning planet. We must consider the source. All of these theories come from their father, the devil, who seeks to plant evil doubts about God in the heart of man.

If we prayerfully approach Scripture with a clean slate, we come to appreciate the Bible’s instruction: Heaven is above, hell is below, and Christ will be seen by every eye when he returns in glory (Rev. 1:7). When he comes again, every cosmological lie will be defeated, and the world will know the true nature of God’s living universe.
