Reflections From The Rough–Examine Ourselves

by Robin Embry

(From Robin’s FB page.)

Romans 12:2  And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. NKJV

1 John 2:6  He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked. NKJV

Currently our culture is filled with division, turmoil, uncertainty, anger, even hate. What can we do to bring unity, calm, assurance, kindness, and love to these turbulent times?

First and foremost, we must possess unity, calm, assurance, kindness, and love within ourselves and throughout our daily walk.  For surely, we cannot share or give that which we do not possess!!

Perhaps we should examine ourselves and insure we have these in abundance with our spouse, our children, our family, our friends, and our neighbors!

If not, then perhaps, we should consider a change within before we try to transform the world!  May each of us examine ourselves daily to insure our transformation to His likeness!  Be blessed!

Robin, Thank you for your excellent article. It is far too easy to fail to examine our own hearts. I remember being told that when I point a finger, I also have three more pointing back at myself.
God bless, and thank you for your contribution to Word and Word.

I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.
