Heaven or Hell?

by Danny Broussard

(Gleaned from Danny’s Facebook Page)

Spending 44 years in the welding profession, there have been times during the hot months, when the heat was almost overwhelming. I welcomed a night shift that gave a little relief.

I have thought many times that the heat I thought to be almost unbearable, was in fact cool, compared to the fires of hell. And yet so many are intent on spending eternity in hell because they do not believe in the reality of it. God’s Word speaks of the horror of hell; the fire is never quenched, weeping and gnashing of teeth, indescribable agony all because of unbelief and the temporary pleasures of sin.

Hell was not prepared for mankind; but for the devil and his angels (Matthew 25:41 “Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels:) yet so many will follow Satan into the deepest pits of hell.

God’s Word also speaks of the joys of heaven. God’s will is that none should perish in the fires of hell, but that all should come to repentance

(II Peter 3:9  The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward [a]us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.).

“For God so loved the world that He gave His Only Begotten Son, that WHOSOEVER believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John. 3:16

Behold now is the accepted time, now is the day of salvation.”  (II Cor. 6:2

“Today if you will hear His voice, harden not your hearts.” (Hebrews 3:15)

Dear friends, if you want victory over all that this life afflicts us with, surrender your all to Jesus Who died for you, obey Him in the waters of baptism, experience a new life led by the Spirit of God, and live in peace, with full assurance in the promises of God, with the blessed hope in the return of Jesus for those who love Him!

If we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.
