Many People Are Hurting These Days

So many people are hurting these days. This hurt comes in the form of failing marriages, failing relationships between parents and children, escape from reality by substance abuse of all kinds, immorality of all kinds,……… and the list goes on and on. Is there a solution to this hurt and the weariness of this life? How can we rise above it all?

In Matthew 11:28-30, Jesus said this; “Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart; and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Jesus wants to take the burden of sin from us. He desires to wash the mud of sin that brings so much hurt to our lives, away from us, making us whiter than snow. God has proven His great love for us over and over again down through the ages and the ultimate proof was at the cross where His Only Begotten Son died for my sin and yours.

“Therefore let us also, seeing we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us; and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him; endured the cross, despising shame, and hath set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
Hebrews 12:1,2

Dear friends, are you burdened by the weight of sin; are you hurting from the wounds of sin? Come to Jesus and find rest. Find freedom from the entanglement of sin. Fix your gaze on Him who endured the cross because He could see the salvation of of our souls.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.
