Dear Friends of Woodland,

The Woodland Board of Directors recently discussed the impact of the coronavirus situation on the upcoming 2020 WBC schedule. As we are all aware, this is a dynamic and serious situation which continues to impact our health, daily lives and country. Updates from health and government authorities are frequent. In this ever changing environment, we discussed the camp schedule for 2020. It is impossible to know at this time if we will even be allowed to have camp this season, but we want to be prepared as the opportunities become available.

In terms of camp news, the new roof on the dining hall was recently completed. The most recently applied roof was able to be reused saving several thousands of dollars. We are very grateful to each person who supported this project. Thank you very much. Additionally, the ceiling in the tabernacle was insulated this winter which should help with noise and heat issues. The ceiling in the dining hall will also be updated with new insulation this spring.

For the month of May, we expect that we will not be able to have the Spring Clean retreat the first weekend of May (May 1-3). Should we learn that is permissible in the next couple of weeks, we will send out an announcement, but for now it is canceled. The 5th Sunday Sing at Woodland on May 31 will remain on the schedule at this time. The remainder of the camp schedule will continue as planned for now. We will monitor the situation closely and send updates periodically via email, the camp’s website and friends of woodland on facebook.

We are planning to develop a schedule for volunteers who can help prepare Woodland for the camp season. This will likely start the last week of April. For now, we are operating under the guidelines of no more than ten persons together and social distancing.

If you are interested in participating with camp preparation, please communicate via email with Jeff Adams or David Pound before finalizing plans. Available dates are listed below. A list of projects for completion will be made available for sign up online. A check list will be placed in the dining hall to designate completion or make comments. You may stay at camp at no cost. Snacks/drinks will be available Friday evenings and breakfast/lunch/drinks will be available Saturdays. Additional meals may be provided for individuals who are staying longer. The utilities will be operational.

I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.
