Central Louisiana Congregations: Bro. Larry Miles, the  Co-Editor of Word and Work will be  preaching at the  following congregations in November

JOHN FULDA (1931-2019) was considered among the “best song leaders” throughout our brotherhood of acapella Churches of Christ.  He was from Amite, Louisiana and entered glory Tuesday October 8, 2019 suffering from a heart attack.   During the early days of Southeastern Christian College in Winchester, Kentucky, he directed the college choir and did extensive preaching in the surrounding area with some Indiana churches.    I can imagine the SINGING IN HEAVEN today with John doing what came so natural.   He was greatly loved and we thank God for his spiritual gift of ministry through music!  .  A celebration of life service was conducted by Bros. Don McGee and Josh Milliron on Monday, October 14, 2019 at the Amite Church of Christ.  John is survived by his wife of 59 years, Clytae; three daughters; brother George Earl Sr.; step-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

PCS WHITE ELEPHANT SALE: (Dan Wilson) The overall income from the PCS Fall Fest/White Elephant Sale this year was just over $12,000.  It was a beautiful day and we probably had somewhere between 1,300-1,500 people on campus during the course of the day.

THANKSGIVING SERVICE is being planned for SUNDAY, November 24th at PCS (8509 Westport Road, Louisville, KY) at 6:00 p.m.   The PCS choir is being replaced this year by an ALUMNI CHOIR, which will be directed by Phyllis Mullins.  They already have about 25 people signed up to sing with the alumni choir and are looking for more.  There will be practices on the two Sunday evenings prior to the service. (10TH & 17TH )  Contact PCS if interested at (502) 429-3727

COMMUNITY CHURCH OF CHRIST (Louisville, Ky.) met “for one more time Sunday October 20, 2019.”  “This past Sunday was a great gathering. I will truly miss filling the pulpit at Community but I know in my heart that this has been a good work for 40 plus years. Many lives have been touched and changed and who knows, there may still be others that it will have had an effect on in the future. Thank you all for opportunity to serve you and again let me remind you that I will be available for any needs that may arise.”  The Community Church of Christ was established December, 1970.  Charter members included Otts, Isons, Kleinhelters, Grunwalds, Harris, Delks.   The church began meeting in Bro. & Sis. Ott’s basement December, 1970.  Later the group rented space in a school, until ground was purchased and building erected in 1975.  Leadership included Henry Ott, minister and Ron Flora (Bev) as associate minister and song leader.  We thank the Lord for Ron & Bev’s faithfulness over the years and ask God to continue to bless them both as they continue to serve him.
