CHURCH OF CHRIST WORLDWIDE (P.O. Box 54842, Lexington, KY 40555) Greetings from the Mission Office located at the Cramer & Hanover Church of Christ. The Lord continues to work through this office to provide a FREE SERVICE to missions around the world. Currently, there are mission projects in 11 different countries which include Zimbabwe, Greece, Japan, North Korea, Israel, and the Philippines. David Harding continues to serve as the director. Betsy Harding, his wife, as the Administrative Assistant and Stanna Page, as Treasurer. Our goal and desire for 2019 is to impress upon the hearts and minds that the time of the Lord’s coming is nearer than it has ever been and that He still needs laborers for the harvest. As He continues to provide the opportunity, let us remain faithful and be more diligent in sharing the gospel to those who do not know Him as Savior and Lord. For a monthly financial statement and other information regarding a specific mission work, please contact us at the address given above.
NEW EMPHASIS ON PRAYER (taken from “Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire” by Jim Cymbala. Copyright 1997. “A minister from Australia (or perhaps it was New Zealand) happened to be present that morning – a rare occurrence. I introduced him and invited him to say a few words. He walked to the front and made just one comment: ‘I heard what your pastor said, Here’s something to think about: You can tell how popular a church is by who comes Sunday morning. You can tell how popular the pastor or evangelist is by who comes on Sunday night. But you can tell how popular Jesus is by who comes to the prayer meeting.’ And with that, he walked off the platform. That was all. I never saw him again.”
PARADOX OF OUR TIMES (Received from Moto in 2018)
- Today, we have bigger houses and smaller families; more conveniences, but less time.
- We have more degrees, but less common sense; more knowledge, but less judgement.
- We have more experts, but more problems; more medicine, but less wellness.
- We spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast; get more angry too quickly, stay up to late, get up to tired.
- Read too little, watch TV too often; and pray to seldom.
- We have multiplies our possessions, but reduced our values.
- We talk too much, love too little and lie too often.
- We’ve learned how to make a living, but not a life.
- We’ve added years to life, not life to years.
- We have taller building but shorter tempers; wider freeways, but narrower viewpoints.
- We spend more, but have less; we buy more, but enjoy it less.
- We’ve been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet the new neighbor. We’ve conquered out space, but not inner space.
- We’ve split the atom, but not our prejudice.
- We write more, but learn less; plan more but accomplish less.
- We’ve learned to rush, but not to wait; we have higher incomes, but lower morals.
- We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies but have less communication.
- We are long on quantities, but short on quality.
- These are the times for fast foods and slow digestion; tall men and short character; steep profits and shallow relationships.
- More leisure and less fun; more kinds of food, but less nutrition.
- Two incomes, but more divorce; Fancier houses, but broken homes.
- This is the paradox of our times.
GOD HAS A POSITIVE ANSWER:
MAN SAYS GOD SAYS BIBLE VERSES
“It’s Impossible.” “All things are Possible” Luke 18:27
“I’m too tired.” “I will give you Rest.” Matthew 11:28-30
“I can’t go on.” “My grace is sufficient” 2 Cor. 12:9
Be encouraged to GET IN GOD’S WORD in 2019 & STAY IN THE WORD!!!
FROM GOD’S WORD: FIVE GLORIOUS THINGS WILL HAPPEN WHEN JESUS COMES. (1 Thess 4:16-17)
- For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout,
- with the voice of the archangel,
- and with the Trump of God:
- and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
- Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
There will be no time to cry out. In the twinkling of an eye, those of us who know Jesus as our Lord will be gone from this earth. Don’t miss out on this!
