LeCOMPTE CHURCH OF CHRIST (Louisiana, Dillard Fontenot) is announcing a 3-day Revival with Julius Hovan on March 16,17,18 (Friday-Sunday).

EVANGELIST BILLY GRAHAM, who counseled presidents and preached to millions across the world from his native North Carolina to communist North Korea during his 70 years in the pulpit, died on Wednesday (2/21/2018) at the age of 99. What a remarkable LEGACY he leaves behind and what a day of CELEBRATION going on in heaven.

He died at 8 a.m. EST at his home in North Carolina.  His tombstone will read “Preacher of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.”

FROM: Bill Koenig White House Correspondent (watch.org) :  “The new US Embassy in Jerusalem will open in May 2018 to coincide with the 70th anniversary of Israel declaring independence, (May 14, 1948) two Trump administration officials said Friday. At first, the embassy will operate out of the US’s current consular premises in Arnona, south Jerusalem.

The officials said Congress was being notified of the impending move on Friday. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson signed off on the security plan for the new embassy on Thursday.  The State Department confirmed the timing of the move, with an official telling The Times of Israel: “We are planning to open the new US Embassy to Israel in Jerusalem in May. The Embassy opening will coincide with Israel’s 70th anniversary.”

ZIMBABWE NEWSLETTER (FEBRUARY, 2018)

I have already purchased my ticket to depart from Louisville on the 13th of March and to return to the USA the 17th of July.  For those who want to know the details of such a flight, it is in three stages and goes like this.

1st Stage:  A one hour 34 min flight from Louisville to Dulles Airport in Washington DC. The plane departs from Louisville at 2:25 pm Tue, March 13.  I have to be at the airport at least 2 hours before that time to check in and go through security screening. Arrive Dulles 3:59pm.

2nd Stage: is a 17hour 5min duration flight.  Depart Dulles at 5:40 pm to arrive the next day, March 14—in Johannesburg, South Africa at 4:45 pm. (Their time zone is 6 hours ahead of Louisville time).

3rd Stage:  Depart Johannesburg at 7:40pm.   Arrive Harare 9:15pm.

TOTAL flight duration 24hours 50minutes. Add 3 hours to get to the airport in Louisville, and add another 2+ hours in Harare to process through Immigration and Customs so it is at least 30 hours overall.

Budiriro:  The building work has progressed well,  Foundations and floor slab have been completed, and the tricky erection of the steelwork successfully completed.  They sent me some pictures of the completed steelwork and I will try to attach a picture of that for those of you who receive this by e-mail. Our bricklayer can now proceed with building the walls.  After I arrive I will need to negotiate the purchase and laying of the metal roof sheeting.

Bunsiwa, Binga: I believe the brethren up there have made sufficient bricks to complete the church I will need to make a couple of trips up there to do several things.

Camp meeting:  A three or four day opportunity to devote to teaching that they might “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”

Water Supply:  Some corrective work needs to be made on our dam at the spring to make it possible to clean out the sand that is silting up the catchment area.

Girl’s Dorm:  We need to peg and lay out for the foundations for a Girl’s Dorm.  We also want to help them organize and operate some Bible camps for youth with some kind of temporary sleeping accommodation.  We hope to reach the vast number of nearby unevangelized youth in that area.

PRAYER:  We urge much prayer for these necessary evangelistic and spiritual efforts.  PRAY also for Joy whom I must leave behind because she is unable to endure the rigors of travel.  It is hard on her but she is willing for the Lord’s work to be done.

The Lord Richly Bless Each Of You!     Robert & Joy Garrett
