logoww109 Years Ago, The Christian Word and Work, March 1908  Bro. Chas. Neal has recently closed a successful meeting with the brethren at Linton, Ind., their first in a house of their own. The Church of Christ was established in Linton a year and a half ago. Tent meetings were held in different parts of the city, attended by enormous crowds, and resulting in a congregation of a hundred members. They now have a neat, comfortable, and substantial church, house. These brethren do appreciate God’s mercy that saved them and they are striving to save others. They are thoroughly missionary. Bro. Neal is now in a missionary meeting at Caledonia, Ind.

80 Years Ago,  Word and Work, March 1937 From Abilene, Texas: “My address is changed to Abilene, Texas. Have got moved and settled down to work. The Lord is already blessing our efforts and holding out before us a vision of greater things for God. Pray that He may find in me a willing heart to be used only for His glory and that I may find in Him my sufficiency. We left Mt. Auburn with great reluctance, but believe I have moved in the will of God.”—Frank M. Mullins.

75 Years Ago, Word and Work, March 1942  Johnson City, Tenn.: “One placed membership here since last report. The first Sunday in March marks our second anniversary with the church here. We trust our third year’s service, by God’s grace, will be the most fruitful yet. In spite of these tremendous times, the brethren are undertaking a heavier financial burden—we are glad we can trust our God to enable us to do so. We anticipate starting some other Bible classes soon. We will need to start our building payment drive soon. Pray with us that God may abundantly supply the need. “I hope you keep giving pictures and histories of churches. I love the work everywhere, and think the feature adds much interest to the paper. I notice people here all seem to take an interest in Bro. Rutherford’s write-up.”—Robert B. Boyd.
