90 Years Ago – 1925 Word & Work – “Don Carlos Janes had excellent missionary meetings at Horse Cave, Gallatin, Nashville, Allensville, Paragould, Rector and Morrilton. He is bound for the Southwest country, stopping wherever invited, for his stirring missionary lectures. Of his first seven visits he writes: “All seven are giving, or will give, to missions.”
85 Years Ago, 1930 Word & Work – From High View Church, Ky.: “Two added from Baptists and one restoration since report last month. Our house has been almost full several times of late. Seventy-seven in Sunday school today.” Jonah Skiles.”
80 Years Ago – 1935 Word & Work – “Daniel Sommer of Indianapolis preached at four churches in Louisville, last week of February: Atwood, Ormsby, Highlands, and Portland Ave. The address at Portland was to a union gathering, twenty churches represented, the subject being ‘Health and Happiness,’ full or helpful teaching for body and soul. It. was an address that would no doubt be useful in tract form.”
75 Years Ago – 1940 Word & Work— Tell City, Ind.: “Things move on here about as usual. Attendance has been hindered by much sick- ness, both at Lily Dale and Tell City, since the first of the year. We are working here two Sundays a month, and two at Borden again this year. We hope to get to Louisville for one of the song rallies soon. We wanted to be at Camp Taylor but were afraid of the weather at that time.”- E. C. Ringer.
65 Years Ago – 1950 Word & Work -Dugger, Ind:. “During the month of February interest and attendance continued to increase here in Dugger. Four confessed their Lord and were baptized. One reconsecrated herself to the Lord for greater service. All of this places a greater responsibility upon the leadership of the church. May we be thankful and humble.”— Maurice Clymore.
50 Years Ago – 1965 Word & Work– Lexington, Ky.: That was a wonderful issue on P.C.S. It reads like a fairy talc to those who do not believe in God”s providence. It is the example of what can be accomplished through apostles of faith in these last days. -H. N. Rutherford
