From Dr. Dale Jorgenson:  Greetings! I would appreciate your announcing that the
Restoration Quarterly has just published my article entitled “Story of a Hymnal: Great Songs of the Church.” The issue is 56:3, Number 3 of 2014. I think the price of individual copies of the journal cost $5.00 and are available at ACU, Box 28227, Abilene, TX 79699-8227. Of course the Word and Work is referenced heavily in the documentation!

The 67th ANNUAL KENTUCKY/INDIANA FELLOWSHIP is now history. Each of the those in attendance were blessed by an in-depth study of “The Mind of Christ in Us” as seen through the book of Philippians. The Monday night session began the week with an inspiring presentation of the Music Camp Singers directed by James Embree and Joan Marsh.

Each of the evening sessions dealt with the mind of Christ and was based on a different chapter from Philippians. The ladies had a daily morning session based on Faith, Hope, and Love. The day sessions offered challenges to the church in leadership, in witnessing, in youth outreach and personal evangelism. New areas of opportunity were also presented including Power Point, Church websites, and Live Streaming Worship services.

At Tuesday night’s Kentuckiana Bible College dinner,  Christian Service award was presented to Joe Stone. Bachelor or Associate degrees were presented to Justin Johnson, Ervin Denkins, Wayman Thompson, and Robert Ridgeway.   And the Kentucky Fried Chicken did finally arrive to a grateful and hungry crowd. At Wednesday night’s dinner, Bro. Paul Kitzmiller updated those in attendance on the current status of Goin’Fishing Ministry and the political unrest in Ukraine. Unfortunately the rebels have taken over many of the country’s church buildings and the members have scattered. Keep the people and the country in your prayers. God blessed Tuesday night with $1253. offering for expenses of the fellowship And Wednesday night $3166. offering for missionaries.

The week was well attended and all were truly blessed.   A big THANK-YOU to Portland for such accommodating facilities and for allowing us to use them. We are also grateful to Betty Ridgeway and Brenda Stone who did such a good job of organizing and setting out the daily lunches. Also thanks to each of the churches providing the food.

And to each of the men who served on the committee to plan and oversee the week as well as to the chairman Bud Ridgeway we give a big “THANK-YOU

The 2014 KBC/SCC REUNION will be held at the campus park in Winchester on Saturday, August 23rd from 11 am to 2 pm. Those are the hours we have reserved the library. You may come earlier and stay later but will likely not have access to the Library. Please note the following: 1) Please bring 2 (or more) dishes (and yes – because someone is going to ask – full of food) for the pitch in dinner to begin at 11:30 AM. 2) Please bring a gallon of tea / lemonade/ or some other kind of drink to set on a drink table to be shared by all. 3) Please bring plates/cups/utensils/napkins enough for your group. 4) Please make sure you help clean up the area once lunch is over. We have to leave the library building as we found it. There are tables / chairs inside the library and if we have a large crowd it is possible some may sit outside to eat. We will not have a planned program but we may have some impromptu speakers whose time will be limited. When all have gone through the lunch line, we will be asking the former students to stand and quickly state your name, where you came from to school, and the years you attended. We will take group photos outside on the steps after lunch. Bring your camera . Please pray for a nice day. IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO ATTEND, please let one of the following know: by August 10th, Larry Miles (larrymiles1952@gmail.com) , Sandra Naugle (sknaugle@gmail.com)  so that we may have some idea of crowd size before we arrive. Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.
