Woodland Bible Camp — Spring  Clean Report. On behalf of the rest of the board of Woodland Bible Camp, a huge thanks to all who worked so diligently at Spring Clean 2014. We were blessed with good weather, great food, and some of the hardest working young people I’ve ever met. Thanks to all the adult staffers for their wonderful contributions. WBC could not exist without the generous gifts of time, effort, and funds from supporters. Spring Clean 2014 was dedicated to Brent Borders, who left this life last fall and is now with the Lord. The Borders family lives to bless WBC and all who worked so hard this last weekend carry on Brent’s dedication. Again, THANK YOU!  -Jeff Adams

This year’s PORTLAND CHRISTIAN HIGH SCHOOL’S ALUMNI BANQUET was Held April 26th at the Kingfish Restaurant in Louisville. The Banquet Room was packed as over two hundred gathered to a delicious meal of – (no, not fish) but beef and chicken. It was a great time of renewing many acquaintances. Two graduates were applauded from classes in the 1930’s – Joe Blansett and his sister Billie Searcy.

Distinguished Alumni Awards were given to A.J. Istre and Chester LaHue. Honorary Alumni Recognition was extended to Joe Meredith and both Ellis and Marie Settles. And each of the 28 graduates of this year’s senior class were welcomed into the Association.

The night ended with a plea from this year’s alumni president, Paula Grimes, for more alumni to rise up and get involved in the Association by serving as officers or on the Board of Control.

CENTRAL BIBLE SEMINARY APRIL 2014 UPDATE (David Moldez – Philippines) To God be the glory for the recently held Central Bible Seminary’s 51st Commencement Exercises. We thank the Lord for the graduates this year. Five of them are already pastors of local churches who came to study at CBS for formal training. One is a former prisoner who was led to the Lord by CBS alumni. This graduate ministers now to the Manila City Jail (where he was a former prisoner) to share the word of God to the inmates there. The rest are active church workers. Please pray with us that their lives will bear fruits to a hundredfold.

67th Annual KY/IN CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP WEEK–Louisville, Kentucky—July 28 – 31, 2014– “The Mind of Christ in You”

MOVIE REVIEW SON OF GOD by Dr. David Reagan   20th Century Fox decided to get on the bandwagon by distributing a portion of The Bible series as a major motion picture titled, Son of God. I saw the film, and I was greatly impressed by it. Some Christian critics cut the film to pieces with arguments that were petty to the point of being silly. A great article by Nathan Jones analyzes the movie in One thing I loved about the movie, that I did not see any critic mention, was its title. Think about it. “Son of God” is a title of deity. It affirms that Jesus was who He said He was — namely, God in the flesh. That title is blasphemous to Jews and downright horrendous to Muslims, but the movie’s producers did not give in to the pressure of political correctness. Also, in the movie, Jesus states three times that He is the only way to God. Christians should be celebrating the film rather than throwing rocks at it.

NOT MORE GOVERNMENTTim Philpot (Fayette County Family Court Judge, Lexington, KY) healing based in faith, family. We need healing for these broken families that can only come from God.   Government agencies are just putting Band-Aids on wounds that need healing, and only God can do that. Which is why it is good for me at this Easter and Passover season to thank God for Ford and Virginia Philpot, my mom and dad who loved each other enough to know that marriage was sacred and having children within the sacred commitment was the highest calling of mankind.” (Lexington Herald-Leader April 21,2014)
