Cutting Avenue Church of Christ in Jennings, Louisiana, will be hosting a Ladies Inspirational Day on Saturday, October 19, 2013.  The theme is “Through the Refiner’s Fire — from ore to Gold” and the speaker will be Carolina Pais-Baretto Beyers, a former exchange student from Brazil and honor graduate of Harding University.  Debra Sigmund will lead the singing, and Lisa Trahan will sing some special songs.  We request your prayers for a day that will honor God and bless all who attend.

On behalf of the Church of Christ Worldwide I am writing to encourage you to respond to our annual Prayer / Praise Booklet to be distributed by Thanksgiving 2013.     I am in the process of gathering – updating material that can be sent to supporting congregations and interested individuals who are interested in missions.  This year, I am including the attachment that asks that you take time and fill out specific questions.     It will not take very long but the information you provide will be an encouragement to those who send funds through the Church of Christ Worldwide.

Please fill out the questionnaire and return it to me by the first of November.    That will give me time to edit, arrange, and proof read before going to our printer, Richard Mullins.      The questionnaire should be self-explanatory, but should you have questions, don’t hesitate to ask.     You need not write a novel but supply information I am requesting.

Thanks again for your participation and my prayer is that the Lord will continue to bless you and the work there and our congregations can be better informed to make their prayers more specific.

From Japan (Moto & Yoriko Nomura)   A note came from Seoul, Korea, telling us of the Seoul City Mayor’s decision with Seoul city assembly’s approval to grant us an honorary Seoul citizenship for our past ministries for their lowest class of people, a great surprise as well as an honor, for we have done almost nothing but just sitting by the side of those who were weeping in the slum.

As a whole, Korea-Jpn. relationship has been rather harsh since Jpn has aggressed Korean peninsular, and yet they have accepted us well as if we were one of them, and we are grateful for His making us a small vessel of His blessing.

So two of us will attend a ceremony in Seoul on the 28th of October, if God willing.

On Sunday we still invite His people to come to partake the Lord’s Table while praising Him, a blessing.

Kentuckiana Bible College (Ervin Denkins)  We have a new   web site.  Larry Miles  has   developed it and  will be  maintaining it.   Please  take time to  check it out.  A word of thanks for your support for Kentuckiana Bible College.  This semester, KBC has three full-time students at the Louisville campus, and several part-time students at three other satellite sites:  Waterford Church of Christ (Taylorsville, KY), Harrodsburg, KY and Denham Springs, Louisiana. Some of our students are taking correspondence classes.

Many of your congregations will be planning your 2014 budgets.  Please keep KBC in mind and make a way to help us monthly or quarterly.  We encourage you to join with others in a “Pick-A-Sunday” fundraiser drive.  Pick a Sunday and take up a special second collection.

All gifts can be sent to

If we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.
