SIS. EVELYN CLARK, Bro. T. Y. ‘s wife, 87, passed away Saturday, June 16, 2012. She was born February 3, 1925, in Daigo-machi, Japan, the daughter of now-deceased 41-year missionaries, Herman and Sarah (McGee) Fox. She was married on February 6, 1943, to Thomas Y. Clark, World War II veteran, and retired minister of 50 years. She was a devoted Christian wife and homemaker of 69 years, and was the loving mother of four children and 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
To me (Bennie Hill), Sis. Clark had the spiritual gift of encouragement. I thought of her as a female Barnabas! She had a listening ear and always words of encouragement. While a student at PCS in the mid-60’s, I constantly found it necessary to call her daughter Sharon for assignments that I failed to write down. Sis. Clark would always answer the phone and instead of getting the assignments, she and I would talk for at least an hour. Not only would she provide the much needed encouragement to this then teenager, but always: “I’ll be praying for you.” Heaven has become more precious to me because of Sis. Clark’s homegoing!!!
