Life Was the Sacrifice

by Kenneth Allen Patrick

This was sent in by Bennie Hill–He asked that I get it in this issue  for Memorial Day

Far off in the distance we hear the taps play Another brave soldier  was lost today.

Life was the sacrifice. Today, one more died for the gift we call freedom …as a family cried.

No greater expression can anyone make than to give up one’s life for another one’s sake.

Remember the freedom. We have life today, because of that soldier that lost his today.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.
